Tonight's evening lecture on Aberdeen's early council registers, which are among the most important urban legal records of 15th century northern Europe will be given by Dr Jackson Armstrong at 19:30 to 30:30. Free event open to all.
For their richness and continuity, Aberdeen’s early council registers represent the earliest and most complete body of surviving records of any Scottish town, and are inscribed on the UNESCO UK Memory of the World Register.
Dr Jackson's lecture in the Regent Lecture Theatre, Aberdeen University will explore the nature of these burgh records, and present some of the work emerging from the three-year digital humanities project, Law in the Aberdeen Council Registers, which Dr Armstrong leads.
