Decolonising the Curriculum Steering Group
A steering group working on how the decolonisation agenda can enrich and repair our curricula and teaching, and supporting Schools to develop learning materials which offer students a rich diversity of views and role models.

Race Equality Champions
As Race Equality Champions we act as a point of contact for staff and students on race equality matters in the School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture. We lead on School strategies to foster a demonstrably anti-racist culture at School and University levels, and we contribute to awareness-raising activities.
We work to support the local implementation of the University’s commitments under the Race Equality Charter, and we contribute actively to the University’s Race Equality Network. We are members of the School Committee on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, liaising with colleagues to oversee the implementation of good practice on race matters.
Another important part of our remit is to lead a Race Equality Sub-group, to co-ordinate School activities in this area. If you would like to contribute to our activities or join our sub-group, please contact us.
