A Conversation with Alexander Goerlach
Goerlach will give a short talk, followed by a conversation between Alexander Goerlach and Thomas Weber, which will then be opened up to the floor.

Alexander Goerlach is the founder, publisher, and editor-in-chief of the debate magazine ‘The European’. He also is a Senior Adviser to the Berggruen Institute and an Editor at Large at the World Post. He also is a former deputy spokesperson of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag. Goerlach holds PhDs both in Theology and in Linguistics & Political Science. Currently a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, Goerlach is working on a book project on religious identities and their influence and impact on global politics.
Thomas Weber is Professor of History & International Affairs and the Director of the Centre for Global Security and Governance at the University of Aberdeen. The author of four books and a former Visiting Scholar at Harvard University and the IAS in Princeton, Weber is a regular commentator on history and current affairs.
