Item Description |
The first piece of music on this page is a continuation from JSS0705 of The Kirrie Kebbuck. The Kirrie Kebbuck was a large cheese that the Laird o' Thrums (A MacPherson) cut up with a saw. It is possible to imagine him doing this in time to the music! Click on cd25b to hear Skinner's recording. The Thrums Cairn also relates to Kirriemuir (Angus, Scotland). 'Thrums' was the name for Kirriemuir made popular by J M Barrie in his book, 'A Window in Thrums'. Compare this to a manuscript copy at JSS0232, and click on the audio link below (cd23c) to hear Skinner playing it. |
