Item Description Page 2 of 2 of a letter to the artist David Waterson. Continuation of a letter Skinner wrote to the artist David Waterson on 18th February 1923. 'I had two Tours last year & both were successful but I must take care of the Tax gatherer, as we have paid a big penny for government Tax so please tell any enquirers the 'King' is not rich enough tobe envied, nor poor enough to be pitied! I play in Dundee Jan:24th & in Usher Hall Edinburgh 26th & 27th then I retrace my steps north after 28th & play in Elgin an old haunt where I resided 12 years. One sad worry. Nasal and Bronchial Cattarh but I am within 5 months of 80 & as that is a disease in itself, I must grin & bear it. How's Lily lookin'? Yr ardent friend J Scott Skinner. ['Lily' refers to the portrait Waterson was making of Mrs Lily Richards' who Skinner refers to as his Secretary in JSS0276.]
