Current Rowett Institute

By 2013 the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health (now part of the University) will have been working at the frontiers of nutrition science for over 100 years.  The Institute plays a major role in the UK and EU research capability in nutrition and human health and has shown itself to be a flexible and innovative organisation, responding to the changing times throughout its long and distinguished history.

Principal Purpose and Objectives

• To undertake world-class research investigating the link between food and health with the aim of benefiting human health and food security concerns
• To provide new knowledge and insights to inform Government policy development
• To provide new knowledge and insights to enable the food industry to develop and innovate by producing healthier products
• To ensure effective knowledge exchange between scientists and key stakeholders to ensure to achieve the above previous two objectives
