By 2013 the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health (now part of the University) will have been working at the frontiers of nutrition science for over 100 years. The Institute plays a major role in the UK and EU research capability in nutrition and human health and has shown itself to be a flexible and innovative organisation, responding to the changing times throughout its long and distinguished history.
Principal Purpose and Objectives
- To undertake world-class research investigating the link between food and health with the aim of benefiting human health and food security concerns
- To provide new knowledge and insights to inform Government policy development
- To provide new knowledge and insights to enable the food industry to develop and innovate by producing healthier products
- To ensure effective knowledge exchange between scientists and key stakeholders to ensure to achieve the above previous two objectives
