Following on from the first UK-Russia workshop on Arctic Research in Arkhangelsk in November 2017, Professor Tina Hunter attended a second workshop in Arkhangelsk on 1-3 March. At this workshop Professor Hunter presented on The role of science, technology and engineering in the regulation of Arctic oil spills: an interdisciplinary approach.
In addition, Professor Hunter used the opportunity to establish and extend relationships with other researchers from Russian Universities, resulting in the formation of the Consortium of Researchers and Experts in North and Arctic Marine Ecosystems (CRENAME), a research initiative between the University of Aberdeen, Murmansk Marine Biological Institute , the Northern Arctic Federal University and Tomsk State University, with Professor Hunter leading the Consortium.
