Introduction to Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) 1 Preparatory Course
Professor Susan Stokeld, SQE1 Programme Director, introduces the newly launched Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) 1 Preparatory Course.
Our SQE1 Preparatory Course is aimed at individuals who intend to sit the SQE1, one of the requirements to qualify as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
Our School of Law holds a reputation for high-quality teaching and experience in this field. Drawing on our existing, in-depth knowledge of English Law, this specially designed online course will prepare you for your SQE 1 and will enhance your understanding of core English law subjects set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Students on the course will also benefit from the expertise of professionals with experience of working in practice.
The SQE1 involves sitting two assessments - FLK1 and FLK2. Both FLK1 and FLK2 involve answering 180 multiple choice questions, across 13 areas of functional legal knowledge, as well as being assessed pervasively on Ethics and Professional Conduct. Our SQE1 Preparatory Course will cover the 13 areas of functioning legal knowledge assessed as part of the SQE1, as well as an additional module on Ethics and Professional Conduct. A key feature of the course, and essential preparation for the SQE1, will be the opportunity to practise multiple choice questions.
Access to this online course will be available for 12 months, allowing you to revisit the materials as you require. Although this course is available on a self-study basis, your learning will benefit from tutor-led information sessions and opportunities to join our topic-specific discussion board.
This course is designed for those who intend to practice as an English qualified Solicitor and hold or will soon achieve an LLB or other qualifying law degree.
Please note, students will be responsible for making arrangements to sit the SQE exams through the registered provider.
This is a preparatory course for SQE1 only and it doesn't include preparation for elements of the SQE2.
