This is an exciting opportunity for current registered students with experience of using the University’s Online Registration and MyCurriculum systems to work in a support role in a busy, friendly, supportive and rewarding environment.We are looking to recruit a number of Student Ambassadors to work as part of the larger Registration Support team handling queries from students using the University’s Online Registration and MyCurriculum systems to register for their studies. The Registration Support Service operates throughout the main registration periods of January and August-September/October.Acting as a first point of contact for users of both the University’s Online Registration system and MyCurriculum (the University’s online course selection tool), the successful candidates will respond to enquiries primarily via web-chat and email, and occasionally by telephone. There may also be opportunities to provide face-to-face support at the Registration Support helpdesk at the Old Aberdeen campus. Previous experience in customer-facing roles with office or administrative experience would therefore be advantageous. Training will be given on the various University systems used by the Registration Support Service.Successful candidates must be available to work throughout the January and August-September/October registration periods and to attend training sessions in January and August 2025. A limited amount of work may be available at other points throughout the academic year.Working hours/shifts will vary from week to week. Shift patterns will take into account other work commitments and, during term-time, study commitments.The Registration Support Service operates from a shared office on the Old Aberdeen campus and successful candidates will be required to be on campus for all of the shifts they are assigned. Occasionally, arrangements may be made with individuals to work from home, at the discretion of and with the approval of the Ambassador’s line manager.This role is based in the UK and, as such, the successful candidates will be required to live and work in the UK.Interviews will take place in late November/early December (date to be confirmed).
Job Description
The post-holder will be a member of the Registration Support Team which manages all student queries related to Online Registration and MyCurriculum. The post-holder will act as first point of contact for all enquiries via web chat, email and telephone.
We are seeking candidates who are current registered students at the University with previous experience of using the University’s Online Registration system and MyCurriculum.
Whilst good general computing skills and confident use of Microsoft products are a requirement of the post, training will be given on the various University systems used by the Registration Support Service.
Previous experience in customer-facing roles with office or administrative experience would be highly advantageous.
Candidates must possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
Candidates must be available to work throughout the January and September/October registration periods and to attend training sessions in January and August 2025.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 1, £21,254 per annum, pro rata (£12.47 per hour) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and probation period.
