CGEBM bioinformatician Louie van de Lagemaat was invited to give the keynote lecture at this event held at the University of Aberdeen and led by the University’s BBSRC EastBio (East of Scotland Biosciences consortium) cohort as part of the EastBio Doctoral Training partnership.
The event was attended by students from the University of Aberdeen and other Scottish Universities. There was lots of enthusiasm to learn how bioinformatics is transforming research in diverse of aspects of fundamental cell biology, which might be termed the "Rules of Life", using applications used to study the genome, epigenome, regulome and transcriptome in complex communities and cells, tissues, or whole organisms at bulk, single cell, or spatially resolved resolution.
Participants also learned about high-performance computing and the power this provides to explore these complex datasets.
