CGEBM Bioinformatician, Sophie Shaw, formed part of the co-directing team for the annual international Workshop on Genomics, held for two weeks in the picturesque town of Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic. Reseachers from around the globe attended the course which encompassed lectures and computer laboratories from world-leading bioinformatic experts including Brian Haas, the developer of Trinity, Julian Catchen, the developer of Stacks, and developers from the QIIME team. Sophie's role was to help with the organisation and teaching of the workshops as well as running sessions introducting Unix and quality control of sequencing data.
