An introduction to the website from HERU Director, Professor Mandy Ryan
We are a leading health economics research centre, with a reputation for delivering applied and methodological work of the highest quality across a broad range of policy-relevant fields including workforce planning, person-centred care, health behaviour and health technology assessment.
We work collaboratively with the Health Services Research Unit, and across the Institute of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Aberdeen, on our shared research objectives of evaluating healthcare interventions, improving research practice, and designing better healthcare.
Our research has informed health policy in Scotland, the UK and internationally. Our methodological developments ensure our research and policy contributions are underpinned by theoretical rigour. Our capacity building activities have contributed to the training of health economists in academia, the NHS and government.
I hope you enjoy finding out more about our innovative and policy relevant research and training opportunities.
Professor Mandy Ryan, HERU Director.
