Join Aberdeen Central Library this Scottish Local History Week to explore the history and geography of consumer co-operative societies in Scotland throughout the 19th and 20th Centuries.

This talk explores the history and geography of consumer co-operative societies in Scotland in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It will look at what makes co-operatives different, outline their growth and distribution, and suggest that local factors played an important role in their histories.
