A sensational new science show from the Bone and Musculoskeletal Group at the University of Aberdeen, sponsored by Research Councils UK and running at Satrosphere during our National Science and Engineering Week Discovery Day.

Ever wondered what your granny’s got in common with an astronaut, or if your skeleton really is ‘bone-idle’? Postdoctoral researchers and PhD students from the University of Aberdeen’s Bone and Musculoskeletal Programme hold the answer to these, and many more, questions. See what makes bone strong, and find out what young and old can do to help preserve that strength as our crack team of bone experts take you and your family on a guided tour of the skeleton. With audience participation, dramatic demonstrations and amazing 3D images this show will bring bone to life in front of a family audience. “The Secret Life of the Skeleton” is supported by a grant from RCUK will run several times as part of the free Discovery Day at Satrosphere Science Centre (179 Constitution Street, Aberdeen) on Saturday the 20th of March. For information about our full National Science and Engineering Week programme, including the full list of free events taking place at Satrosphere and the Maritime Museum on Discovery Day, please visit www.abdn.ac.uk/science/nsew
