A celebration of humanity hosted by members of La Banda Europa & friends. Bringing refugees and the local community together to participate in an informal evening music & spoken word

The second weekend at the renowned Celtic Connections music festival in Glasgow features an exciting project called La Banda Europa. This will bring together over thirty musicians from all over Europe for a concert at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Sunday 29 January, who will play a variety of instruments associated with their home territories. The night before that flagship concert, La Banda Europa will head to Easterhouse, where there will be an international celebration of humanity at the Platform venue. That free JAM event, “Just About Managing”, will be a collaborative performance by members of the band and friends. It is designed to bring refugees and the local community together to participate in an informal evening music and spoken word.

Malcolm Combe, a lecturer at the School of Law with an interest in land reform and property law, has been a director of the company behind this project, La Banda Ltd, for a number of years. He will be participating in the JAM event by explaining some of recent developments that have taken place in Scotland to allow for the empowerment of communities.

Tickets are free but booking is required HERE.
