Description

Gravestone in abandoned churchyard made of crude slab of grey granite
about 3 feet high by 1'6" wide incised with a Greek cross and with a relief of a sword or dagger. An early memorial aimed at a non-literate audience.

Related Information

St. Meddans Church Remains of church; was dedicated to St Meddan & belonged to the Abbey of Lindores. The walls stand to roof level & appear to have been restored. There are several old gravestones in the churchyard of which four have unusual designs. There are three long and thin pointed standing stones just S. of the kirk.
