Director of Dentistry, Professor John Gibson, will join a panel discussion at this year's May Festival.
The number of mouth and throat cancers is on the rise in the UK and is significantly higher in Scotland compared to England. This is attributed to changes in alcohol and tobacco consumption and human papilloma virus (HPV) infection. The panel are all experts in this field and will discuss risk factors, and the detection and treatment of these devastating cancers. Audience members will be privy to the latest discoveries in cancer research.

Since its inception in 2013, the May Festival has sought to open the University of Aberdeen to all, allowing visitors to experience the historic campus for themselves. This year will also see events staged around the city to make it the biggest May Festival so far!
