The accountancy group supervise a considerable number of PhD students who have been attracted to University of Aberdeen because of the reputation and research activity of the discipline members. Several PhD projects linked to the GAS themes are currently underway with several more in the development stage.
To support PGR students and as part of their training, the Centre provides an annual PhD research conference, at which students present a paper, or for first year students a poster or literature review based on their PhD project to internal and invited external academics.
The conference includes an opening keynote presentation from an experienced researcher. Where time permits a second presentation from an experienced and well-known academic on research philosophy will also be included. Students are provided with comments on their presentation and feedback on their paper.
The centre also runs its own research seminar series where all PhD students are invited to attend and participate.
