Prayer, O Ihesu Christi eterna, continued.



St Bridget asks that, in memory of Christ's suffering, she may experience before her own death, contrition, confession and remission of her sins.

The second of fifteen prayers of St Bridget to Jesus Christ (Oratio tercia, HE, p 77). She invokes the memory of the pain he suffered, when he was stretched out and nailed upon the cross, and asks that he may grant her his fear and his love.


O Ihesu mundi fabricator quem nulla di\mensio <vera> in termino metitur qui terram\ palmo concludis. Recordare amarissimi dolo\ris quem sustinebas cum sanctissimas manus tuas\ ad crucem obtusis clavis Iudei primo affixerunt et\ ad perforandum <et perforando> delicatissimos <et sacratissimos> pedes tuos cum non es\ses conveniens voluntati eorum dolorem super do\lorem vulneribus addiderunt et ita crudeliter distrax\erunt <detraxerunt> et extenderunt in longitudine <longum> et latitu\dine <latum> crucis ut dissolverentur compagines mem\brorum tuorum omnium.
