Prayers of and to St Bridget.
Prayer, O dulcis Maria, continued.
The Virgin is to be blessed for her virginity, purity, fidelity, suffering and
chastity. Through her, God became man. Through her, the righteous find grace;
the sinner, pardon; the dead, life; and the exile, his homeland.
virgo eciam indubitata dubitante sponso. Prop\terea benedicta sis tu quia mater
et virgo que so\la deo carissima quia pre omnibus angelis pu\rissima, Quia sola
cum apostolis fide plenissima\ quia sola dolore cordis amarissima quia pre\
confessoribus abstinencia clarissima quia pre vir\ginibus omnibus
excellentissima continencia et\ castitate. Ideo benedicant te omnia superiora\
et inferiora quia per te creator factus est homo\ Per te iustus invenit
graciam, peccator indul\genciam, mortuus vitam exul redit ad patriam\ suam.\
Prayer, O Mater benedicta.
A prayer to St Bridget, bride of Christ. The author, a penitent woman, asks
that she may be delivered from the snares of the devil and, at the end of her
life, from the wickedness of mankind.
O Mater benedicta sancta Brigitta sponsa\ domini nostri Ihesu Christi per
graciam quam\ ab eo meruisti. Te deprecor misera terra omni\ pollucione et
