Why did you choose to study at Aberdeen?
Aberdeen is the centre of oil and gas in Europe and the University of Aberdeen is ranked highly globally for LLM in Oil & Gas.
Why did you choose your particular course?
Its fitting for my country, which is emerging as an oil and gas frontier in Africa.
What did you most enjoy about your time at Aberdeen? Did you have any particularly memorable student experiences?
I enjoyed the fact that Aberdeen is the centre for students from all corners of the world, enabling us to share social and business experiences from around the world, which prepares us better for our industries upon completion of our studies.
If you were involved in any clubs and societies as a student, what did you enjoy most about them and what benefit do you think they have for students?
I joined the Energy Institute, Aberdeen Chapter. It exposed me to the industry players in the energy sector.
If talking to a group of prospective students, what advice would you give them to help them make the most of their time at the University of Aberdeen?Mingle with as many students as possible to borrow experiences from various corners of the world.

What was the title of your first job after graduating from Aberdeen?
Legal Counsel at the Namibia National Petroleum Corporation (NAMCOR).
What did your first role involve?
Legal advice, drafting, negotiation and interpretation of contracts, compliance.
What is your current role?
Founder & Managing Partner - SNC Incorporated in Windhoek, Namibia.
Was your degree at Aberdeen essential for getting to where you are now? If so, in what way?
Yes, the LLM allowed me to accelerate my career path within a short period of time since I was one of the few specialised oil and gas lawyers in Namibia.

You should have a three-year career growth plan already before completing your studies and start working on it.
