Biography
Amalraj Raja joined Public Health as a Research Fellow in Medical Statistics in May 2006. In 1983, Amalraj Raja got his undergraduate degree in Statistics from St.Joseph's College, Trichy, India and postgraduate degree in Statistics from Loyola College, Chennai, India.
Amalraj Raja underwent advanced training in application of Statistics in the Department of Biostatistics, Christian Medical College, Vellore. He worked in Advanced Center for Clinical Epidemiological research and Training Centre in Madras Medical College, Chennai. His work with the Tamil Nadu Government funded project on 'Epidemiology of Head Injury' led to obtain his Ph D on 'Biostatistical Application in the Prediction of Outcome of Severe Head Injury' from the Tamil Nadu M G R Medical University, Chennai, India.
Within Public Health, Amalraj Raja involves in the analysis of research projects, especially statistical modeling of longitudinal data, Statistical methods in Epidemiology, etc., He is also involved in teaching and training in Medical statistics organised by the Medical Statistics Team for staff and students of this University.
