The next meeting of the University of Aberdeen Chinese Studies Group will take place on Tuesday 12 November at 5.15pm in Room F61, Edward Wright Building. The speaker will be Dr Joshua Wright of the Department of Archaeology, University of Aberdeen, who will talk on "Landscapes and Politics in Medieval Inner Asia: Archaeological approaches to the Liao and Mongol Empires"

Dr Wright is a landscape archaeologist with a research focus on East Asia. He studies monumentality and movement, mobile pastoralist economies and political landscapes. Currently he carries out research in Mongolia and China using primarily archaeological survey and other spatial data sources.
