Planning and Regulation of the Project for the Protection of Language Resources of China

This is a past event

According to the national language condition that Chinese language resources are rich and endangered, Project for the Protection of Language Resources of China has set up 1,500 survey sites across the country, mainly implemented by language experts, adhering to the concept of “Unified Planning Guidance” and “Standardized Standards Ahead”. The planning of the project is comprehensive and prospective, and the project developed a systematic unified standard for investigating, annotation, labelling verification and management operations for the language resources. Nowadays, with the rapid decline of language resources, the planning and regulation of the language protection project guarantees the rescue investigation and preservation of language resources, developing language resources in multiple dimensions and cultivating talents for language resources. We hope that the project can serve as reference for the World Atlas of Language (WAL) and the linguistic resource protection in other countries and regions.
