British Born Chinese - a film

The film challenges the dominant popular representations of British Chinese by engaging in the everyday struggles of two teenage boys, Dan and Kevin, reconciling their Britishness with Chineseness through their experiences at school, as volunteers at a community centre, and at home.

The film incorporates a range of techniques developed in Visual Anthropology, including feedback screenings that led to more nuanced research and the necessity to include the protagonists in the filmmaking process.
