Purpose & Remit

The Committee was established in October 2023.

Purpose

The Staff Experience Committee, on behalf of the Senior Management Team, is responsible for the oversight and delivery of the staffing related commitments within the Aberdeen 2040 strategy and specifically the inclusive commitments. The Committee will ensure that appropriate policies and strategies are in place to drive an effective staff experience across the employment lifecycle supporting the delivery of the University strategy and overall Institutional performance.  This will include oversight of key performance indicators and an agenda that drives forward continuous improvements in the staff experience.

Remit

The remit of the Committee is to:

  • Encourage innovation in staff strategy and policies to contribute to the University's success, supporting the work of the Partnership and Negotiating Consultative Committee (PNCC) and the Policy Review Group (PRG).
  • Monitor staff attitudes and opinions regularly and use outputs as part of the evidence base in determining appropriate action.
  • Prioritise plans to enhance staff experience against transparent objectives and review progress.
  • Embed issues of equality diversity and inclusion in all areas of work through links with the University Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (UEDIC).
  • Monitor the agreed key performance indicators relevant to the staffing environment.
  • Receive reports and monitor progress from other staffing groups such as Mental Health and Wellbeing Group, Reward Negotiation and Consultation Group, Workload Review Group, Policy Review Group and Staff Survey Group.
  • Identify and monitor key risks associated with the staffing strategy.

This will be reviewed annually at the first meeting of the committee cycle.
