How to produce audio for free using Audacity
Audacity is a free, easy-to-use, audio editor and recorder for Windows, macOS, GNU/Linux and other operating systems.
Install Audacity on University Managed Devices
If your computer is owned by the University, you can install Audacity using the University's Software Center - no admin privileges required, simply install at your own convenience.
- Search for 'Software Center' in your Windows search box
- Select 'Audacity' from the list of available software
- Click 'Install' to install on your PC or laptop. (Mac users should contact the IT Service Desk.)
Install Audacity on Personal Devices
If you are using your own personal computer, you can install Audacity directly from the manufacturer's website free of charge: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/
