This conference is organised around a series of short talks and workshops, and an overarching theme for the day is to highlight to psychology colleagues some of the different ways that we can use our research skills to help our organisation meet the myriad challenges it faces. Within this context, it is hoped that attendees will be inspired and encouraged to utilise local (and national) networks of expertise and resources in order to develop a psychologically driven research portfolio that is, ultimately, focused upon improving the care and treatment of the population served by NHSG. However, it is also anticipated that any research portfolio that is developed will have wider implications and appeal beyond NHSG; thus, the running of this event may also help contribute to NHSG’s reputation as a centre of excellence in health sciences research.
