A public talk on the effect of social media on our social circles
Social media from Facebook to WhatsApp have revolutionised our social lives in less than a decade. Yet, claims to the contrary notwithstanding, they haven’t in fact increased the size of our social circles. These remain resolutely fixed at a typical value of 150 (with a range from about 100-250, reflecting the difference between introverts and extroverts). Why is this?
