Historical Model Collection
The Anatomy Museum has an important collection of wax, papier-mâché and ceramic models dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A number of prominent model makers features in the collection, including Auzoux of France, Ziegler Studios of Leipzig, Germany and Bock Lips Steger of Germany.
These models, originally used in medical teaching, present a variety of anatomical appearances and form an important aspect of the University's wider anatomical model collection (held also by the Zoology Museum and the Pathology and Forensic Medicine Collection).
