Parents' Information Evenings

The University is hosting a series of Parents' Information Evenings sepcifically for parents/guardians of applicants to the University of Aberdeen. The events will run throughout February in Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Newcastle and Belfast.

Beginning university is a daunting experience for parents as well as for new students. You will want to be sure that the university your son or daughter attends offers them help in finding their feet, making friends, settling into their studies and into student life. As you know, Aberdeen has a distinguished reputation for teaching and research, but we are equally proud of our strong student support network, which provides expert guidance in both academic and personal matters.

The Parents’ Information Evenings will include presentations by staff from our Student Recruitment and Admissions Service. Our small but knowledgeable team will answer queries from the audience on accommodation, admissions and general welfare. The presentation will also cover student finance. The evening will begin with refreshments available from 7.00pm until 7.30pm, when the presentations will commence.
