Student exchanges

The University of Aberdeen is delighted to have partnered with two prestigious universities in Mexico to facilitate student exchanges. There are no tuition fees but students pay for their flights, accommodation and subsistence.

  • Students on the MA Hispanic Studies (www.abdn.ac.uk/study/courses/undergraduate/arts/hispanic_studies/) have the option to study at LaSalle in partial fulfilment of the MA (hons) residence-abroad requirement. Students must be in their third year at the time of the exchange and be in good academic standing. They also have the possibility to carry out out an unpaid teaching assistantship at LaSalle under the supervision of an academic member of staff.
  • Students on other undergraduate degree programmes

Study exchanges for Aberdeen students outside the MA Hispanic Studies programme to study at LaSalle may be possible, however, please note that there is limited availability of courses taught in English.

Students from Aberdeen

  • Students on the MA Hispanic Studies
Have the opportunity to study abroad at ITESO in partial fulfilment of the MA (hons) residence-abroad requirement. Only third year students are eligible. The exchange is for a full year and students must be in good academic standing. Following on from their coursework in the first semester at ITESO, Aberdeen students carry out social and community service placements (Proyectos de Aplicacion Profesional - PAP) or professional training projects in the second semester of their exchange. These placements are organised by ITESO under the supervision of an academic. They are unpaid and are for 8 hours each week.  Activities vary from working in rural communities on sustainability to working in businesses, but there is always a strong element of social responsibility and service.
