Being a Careers Service Ambassador for the last couple of months has helped me to develop and acquire valuable skills. By promoting the Careers and Employability Service through the pop-up stands I have developed my abilities in communication, approachability and problem-solving. At first, the task of promoting and advertising the service to other students on campus seemed challenging, since it is not always easy to approach people. However, after the first couple of tries it becomes easier and is, in fact, an enjoyable activity that has helped me develop my skills. Moreover, this role has given me the opportunity to learn much more about careers, marketing yourself, event management and has allowed me to connect more readily with employers at, for example, Careers Fairs. Overall, being a Careers Service Ambassador has been an enriching opportunity that has allowed me to improve many of my abilities.
