Interested in highlighting the University's contribution to climate change research and promoting inclusive dialogues and awareness about climate action? We welcome applications to participate in our delegation to COP29.
The next UNFCCC Conference of the Parties, COP29, is taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan from 11-22 November 2024.
The University of Aberdeen is officially admitted as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) Observer to the UNFCCC COP negotiations and is eligible to nominate delegates to attend the Intersessional meetings and COPs. This process is coordinated by the Interdisciplinary Institute.
If you are interested in being nominated to be part of the University of Aberdeen’s delegation please complete this short form by Tuesday 30 July.
All members of staff and students are eligible to express interest. Please be aware that expressing interest and subsequent nomination does not mean that we will be able to guarantee a place as each year we receive a high volume of requests for nomination but are generally only awarded a small number of delegate badges by the UNFCCC Secretariat.
Please note that for each nominee the University may need to provide the UNFCCC with additional information including date of birth, nationality and identification document number (passport number). If these details are required a colleague will be in touch with you directly with further information.
