Last Friday Carola MacCallum, Gaelic Language Development Officer for the University, and Rhiannan Ledwell, AUSA Vice President for Education, were invited to the premiere screening of the new BBC Alba program about the archaeological dig to find the lost monastery in which the Book of Deer was written. The dig coincided with the exhibition of the Book of Deer at the Aberdeen Art Gallery last summer. The Book of Deer is one of the most important manuscripts in Scotland as it contains the first written record of Scottish Gaelic. You can watch the program on BBC Iplayer for the next month.
