Two University of Aberdeen Performance Swimming athletes are celebrating success at the Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships.

Second year biochemistry student, Faye Rogers, has become a World Champion para swimmer having won the 100m butterfly (S10 category). Faye also collected two bronze medals in the 400m freestyle and 200m individual medley.

Faye broke the European and British records for 100m fly (S10 category) in the heat, and broke the record again in the final with a time of 105.48 seconds.

Business Studies student and UoA performance swimmer, Toni Shaw, also collected a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle (S9 category).

Coach Patrick Miley said: “The results from both swimmers are extraordinary and indicate that the next 12 months leading into the Paralympic Games will be a very exciting time – both for the swimmers and for the University”.
