Beware of uniyearbook.com

Please beware of emails from uniyearbook.com. This organisation is not affiliated to the University of Aberdeen in any way, and you should never sign-up to services from unknown senders.

The information Security team have been made aware of emails being sent to students from an organisation called Uniyearbook, who are asking students to sign up.

Please be aware that uniyearbook.com is not affiliated with The University of Aberdeen in any way.

They are an independent entity who are selling a product through their website.

There have been reports that the sign-up process requests large amounts of personal information, including financial details.

General Security Tips:

  • Never provide personal information to an online business or website unless you have initiated contact and trust the organisation. Doing so can put you at risk of further phishing attacks and financial fraud.
  • Do not interact with unsolicited emails without verifying the source. The Student Support team or IT Service Desk can assist with this.
  • All emails sent from outside the University will feature a warning banner (seen in orange above). These emails should be treated with caution.

Report phishing:

If you receive a suspicious email, report it immediately by clicking the “Report Phishing” button in Outlook. The Information Security team check every report.
