On Friday 9th April, 2021 it was the 250th anniversary of the birth of one of Aberdeen's great men of medicine. Sir James McGrigor; physician, military surgeon and botanist, is considered to be largely responsible for the creation of the Royal Army Medical Corps and he served as Rector of the University of Aberdeen. As it was not possible to host a public event at the obelisk in Duthie Park for this anniversary, an online tribute hosted by MedChi and the University of Aberdeen was arranged in its place.
