Dr Sara Jane MacLennan, Psycho-oncologist and Deputy Director of the Institute of Applied Health Sciences has been quoted in a European policy paper on strengthening the workforce who deliver cancer care published by the European Cancer Organisation.

Dr MacLennan contributed to producing the report and was asked to provide a quotation on multi-disciplinary training for those providing cancer care within the main body of the report. This is in recognition of her sustained international reputation in psycho-oncology and multi-disciplinary working within supportive cancer care.

“Working Against Cancer: Giving Professionals the Right Tools for the Job“ was published on the 7th April. This policy paper will be used in meetings with the EU Commissioners, Members of the European Parliament, EU Commission officials, and EU Member States Permanent Representations to ensure that issues and outlined strategic response are well understood by policy-makers across Europe.
