Join the Staff Disability Network and the Neurodiversity Network for their jointly organised series of practical and conceptual-based conversations online.
For Disability History Month 2024, 14 Nov - 20 Dec, the Staff Disability Network and the Neurodiversity Network have jointly organised a series of online conversations.
The national theme for 2024 is 'Disability, Livelihood and Employment'. Each conversation will include a 15 minute presentation, followed by an open discussion for 30 minutes. Further support and resources will also be shared.
The conversations will take place online via Teams, and are open to all staff and students.

'Hidden disabilities vs visible disabilities. What is the difference with regards to daily interaction and help? - Alison Jenkinson, Anna Goldhawk
There are times when we all need assistance. Whether a disability is unseen or evident, how can help be provided if there is embarrassment or lack of awareness or a fear of misunderstanding? What role does individual confidence play in the daily physicality and psychology of being disabled, while interacting in able-bodied societal structures?
