Sports Arbitration Moot

The Sports Arbitration Moot (SAM) is a moot competition on sports law arbitration that we have just launched in collaboration with FIFA, the University of Neuchâtel and the Swiss Arbitration Academy.

The SAM is open to any students admitted to a law school throughout 2021 or 2022, and has three distinct features:

(i) It is composed exclusively of oral rounds, giving students the opportunity to focus on their oral advocacy (in English).

(ii) It has a preparation course (the SAM Camp), which will allow students with little or no knowledge of sports law arbitration to quickly become familiar with the practical case and prepare their arguments.

(iii) It will take place online except for the final rounds, which will take place (if health circumstances permit it) in Zurich.

You can find more information on the SAM’s website where, among other things, you will find the SAM’s Rules for 2022.

Any student enrolled in a law faculty in 2021 or 2022 can participate in the SAM, irrespective of their law degree (undergraduate, LLM, PhD, etc.). However, except with the permission of the SAM Organization:

(i) Mooties who are qualified in systems where there is no Bar should not have more than two-year post-qualification experience.

(ii) Mooties who are qualified in systems where there is a Bar should not have any post-qualification experience

Registration is open until November 12, with an early bird until October 15.
