The library are offering a series of online workshops for postgraduates on essential digital research skills.

You may know how to run a search to find relevant sources in an academic database, but did you know that many databases have other powerful tools that go beyond basic searching?

In this 2-hour workshop we will look at the advanced features that can take your database research to the next level. These include tools for refining and automating your searches, as well as analysing your results, finding trends, and identifying alternative sources.

After this workshop you will be able to:

  • Use advanced database search tools to refine your search results and set up alerts and automated searches.

  • Export your search results in different formats.

  • Use databases to analyse and evaluate your search results, including using tools such as journal metrics.
