The library are offering a series of online workshops for postgraduates on essential digital research skills.

This 2-hour online workshop will introduce you to the key techniques you will need to search efficiently and effectively, whatever your subject area. 

After completing this workshop, you will be able to: 

 

  • Identify sources of scholarly information relevant to your research, including specialist databases.
  • Formulate an effective search strategy and create search strings using Boolean and other search operators.
  • Access relevant sources via the University Library’s extensive online and print collections.

 

If you are new to searching academic literature in a focused and systematic way, or need of a refresher on good academic search techniques, this workshop is for you.

This workshop will include plenty of time for questions and hands-on exercises so you can practice different search techniques and accessing online resources.
