Celebrate the Year of the Snake at our Lunar New Year Family Festival at the University of Aberdeen!

Join us for our annual festival packed with family fun and culture, bigger and better than ever. This year, the Confucius Institute and University Collections have teamed up to host a fantastic activity-filled day at the University of Aberdeen. In addition to the usual popular activities in Elphinstone Hall, there’s even more to explore across the campus.

In Elphinstone Hall, you’ll find family-favourite activities such as Chinese calligraphy, dress-up, snake-themed crafts, and Chinese games. Plus, you can enjoy Love Rara’s fabulous face painting. Take a break from the activities to enjoy storytelling with Pauline Cordiner in the Sir Duncan Rice Library (open from 11.30am) or visit the Imagined Norths exhibition.

Over at the Zoology Museum, which will be open especially for this occasion, visit the Critter Keeper. Can you spot all the snakes in the museum? Join one of the guided tours to find out.

Explore all three venues to discover the Chinese zodiac animals on campus and complete the trail for a chance to win a Lego prize.
