Reusable Takeaway Cup Discounts

If you bring a reusable takeaway cup to any University café, you will save the £0.35 charge for a disposable cup!

Blackwells Book Shop

Blackwells on the Old Aberdeen Campus provides a 10% discount to any University staff member who presents their ID card. There are also extra discounts available seasonally.

SwapShop

The Students' Union provides a free Swap Shop in the Students' Union Building. The shop is based on donations from the University community and is open to all. Whether you're looking for a winter coat, or requiring some new pots and pans, there's plenty to choose from.

Zero Waste Shop

The Students' Union has a Zero Waste shop within the Students' Union Building which is open on Monday's 12:30-15:30. It is open to both staff and students and sells all items at about 25-50% off the retail price. From cupboard essentials such as pasta and oats to donated food that has been saved from waste - the shop stocks a variety of goods.

First Bus Commuter Travel Club

As an employee of the University, you are eligible to sign up to the First Bus Commuter Travel Club. Through this free to join scheme, you can get 10% off your electronic subscription ticket. This means:

Unlimited bus travel for work and leisure

Automatic mobile ticket renewal

Staff are entitled to free off-peak membership to ASV. You can also upgrade your membership to full access for a discounted price of £14 a month!

University staff are entitled to free, independent and impartial support through professional counselling as part of the Employee Assisstance Programme. Whether it's money worries, debt or other major life issues, the programme provides you with emotional support, practical information and counselling.

Will writing service

The University has launched a free will writing service for staff and their partners. Through this service you will receive a 30 minute appointment with a legal firm, who will discuss your situation and your wishes and ensure that the will fully caters to your needs.

Affinity Connect

The University is paired with Affinity Connect - a financial wellbeing and retirement specialist - to provide staff at the University opportunities to learn how to improve their financial planning. The 90 minute 'Financial Wellbeing course' and the 'Retirement Planning workshops' are free to attend but require booking.
