Through ABDN:365 we promote and celebrate inclusion and diversity all year round, not solely during associated awareness raising campaigns.

ABDN:365 also provides us with an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the invaluable contributions that our diverse community makes to the University of Aberdeen while promoting ongoing support for our students and staff.

Wellbeing Support

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The University is fully committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Our vision is to strive to create an inclusive environment for work and study which celebrates the diversity of our staff and students.

EDI Events & Engagement Group

The EDI Events and Engagement Group is a collaboration of the Students' Union and departments across the university to deliver events and opportunities related to EDI through an intersectional framework. An element of this group includes the creation of 3 subgroups; The LGBTQ+ Events Subgroup; The Race, Racism and Decolonisation Subgroup; and the Disability Events Subgroup. The creation of these subgroups aim to address the lack of representation of LGBTQ+, disabled and racialised staff and students in the EDI work being undertaken.

How to get help with your event

The Experience, Engagement and Wellbeing Team can provide you with assistance in the delivery of internal events related to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. This includes, marketing, communication, and graphics, as well as general advice and support.

If you are looking to host an event related to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to our internal audience (current staff and students) and would like the support of our Engagement & Inclusion Officer please email wellbeing@abdn.ac.uk .

Effective Allyship is,“an active, consistent, and arduous practice of unlearning and re-evaluating, in which a person in a position of privilege and power seeks to operate in solidarity with a marginalised group” - The Anti-Oppression Network .
