Fundraiser for students and scholars affected by war in Ukraine

An appeal has gone out to Alumni as part of our support for Ukraine.

Dear colleagues,

As part of our solidarity with Ukraine, an appeal is going out to our alumni today asking for their help to build on the support we already have in place to assist students and scholars displaced by the ongoing conflict.

The appeal to our graduates - in support of the Development Trust’s Student & Scholar Sanctuary Fund - will directly help those who have been forced to leave their education to continue their studies in the north-east of Scotland.

With an emphasis on those affected by the conflict in Ukraine, the Student & Scholar Fund has been established to support students and scholars from around the world, who cannot return home safely, or are seeking sanctuary.

Alumni around the world are being asked to donate to the fund which will provide displaced students and scholars with support to replace essential items such as clothing and laptops.

The University has pledged to waive fees, offer free accommodation and provide pastoral support for undergraduate and postgraduate students who have been displaced from Ukraine.

You can read our press release and see here for more about the new appeal and how to donate.

Best wishes
