Dear colleagues,
It’s been great to welcome our new January start students to the University over the last few weeks and to share the buzz on campus as they find their feet in their new surroundings.
With registrations now complete, we can report that enrolments are significantly ahead of target.
We’ve enrolled 360 new international PGT students, which is 48% ahead of our financial intake target and 12% up on January 2024. These students have come to us from 34 different countries, demonstrating the truly international nature of our institution.
Our Home and RUK January PGT numbers are also 14% ahead of our financial intake target - a fantastic achievement at a time where student recruitment is extremely competitive across the UK.
While this outcome is very positive for the financial sustainability of the University and worthy of celebration, we must acknowledge that the climate for our institution and the entire UK higher education sector remains challenging and will do for some time yet.
Achieving this outcome is a collective effort and we wish to thank you all for your efforts, with a special mention to our colleagues from admissions, recruitment, marketing, academic services, compliance, student support and across the academic community.
Students have more choice than ever before, in the UK and across the globe, but they choose to come here because of the excellence we all strive to deliver.
We are excited by our work ahead and the opportunity to inspire more students to join us here in Aberdeen, our campuses overseas, and online. We are greatly encouraged by your continued engagement and support in this vital area.
