Latest on new project board looking at how our campuses could look
Dear colleagues,
In summer we announced the formation of a new Project Board for the University: Reimagining our Campuses.
This Board has a broad membership drawn from across our University community and will take forward consultation and planning on how our University estate could evolve in the coming years, putting Aberdeen 2040 at its heart.
Early discussions and information gathering is underway, stimulating a reimagining of the future of our Campuses. There is opportunity for all interested to get involved in the project.
Four working groups have been established, supported by three technical groups which can provide specialist estates, digital, and communications and marketing advice. There is still opportunity for student and academic representatives to join the working groups. There is also opportunity for experienced individuals to provide project support to the working groups. The themes to be explored by the four groups are:
- Education
- Research and Innovation
- Inclusive, Accessible and Wellbeing
- Sustainable
Initially the groups will meet every two weeks and will provide a written update to each monthly Project Board meeting.
We are keen to hear from people who would be interested in contributing to this exciting project. Please email reimagine@abdn.ac.uk by Monday 16 October should you wish to put your name forward for consideration for a working group place, as a member or project support, accompanied by a short note on why you would like to be involved in the project. There will be other opportunities to get involved with Reimagining our Campuses and more information on these, together with regular projects updates, will follow shortly.
If you have any queries you would like to discuss before submitting your name, please contact Director of Estates and Facilities, Morag Beers morag.beers@abdn.ac.uk, and Project Sponsor and Vice-Principal Regional Engagement, Professor Pete Edwards p.edwards@abdn.ac.uk.
We look forward to hearing from those of you looking to volunteer and engaging with all over the coming months.
Best wishes,
Pete and Morag
