University appoints new Director of Advancement

Message from the Principal, George Boyne:

I am pleased to announce that the University has appointed Liza Boffen-Yordanov as its new Director of Advancement.

Liza’s appointment follows an extensive international recruitment process to appoint a talented and experienced leader to take forward our next fundraising campaign, and to lead the strategy for our Directorate of Development and Alumni Relations. She will sit on the Senior Management Team and report to the Principal.

Formerly the head of advancement for Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Liza has close to 25 years of experience in international fundraising and alumni relations. Liza has held senior positions in the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Franklin University Switzerland, The George Washington University, The National University of Singapore, and Purdue University. She and her teams have raised hundreds of millions of dollars over the course of the last 24 years.

Liza completed her undergraduate degree at Trinity College (now Trinity Washington University) in Washington DC. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the School for International Training and is ABD at Purdue University for her PhD in Higher Education Administration.

An active contributor and participant in professional conferences, Liza regularly appears as a presenter and panel member in discussions around major gift fundraising, board management and alumni engagement.

I am sure you will join me in welcoming Liza to this important role, as we look ahead to our next fundraising campaign.

Best wishes

George
